By booking a service with ToolTec Home & Security, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before completing your booking.
1. About Us
ToolTec Home & Security is a professional home security and installation service operating exclusively in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Our services include keyless entry lock installation, security camera systems, video doorbells, TV mounting, and general home repair services including drywall and basement renovations.
2. Service Area
This service is available exclusively within Ottawa, Ontario. Bookings from outside this area will not be accepted and will be cancelled with a full refund of the deposit.
3. Booking & Appointments
- All appointments must be booked through our online booking system.
- A 10% deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your appointment.
- For larger projects such as basement renovations, a custom quote and separate deposit agreement may apply.
- By completing a booking, you agree to our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
4. Pricing
All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes. Prices are subject to change without notice, but confirmed bookings will be honoured at the price quoted at the time of booking. For complex projects (e.g., basement renovations), final pricing may be subject to a site assessment.
5. Payment
- The 10% deposit is collected securely online at the time of booking via credit/debit card.
- The remaining 90% balance is due upon completion of the service and can be paid by credit/debit card, cash, or Interac e-Transfer.
- For multi-day projects such as basement renovations, a payment schedule will be agreed upon prior to commencement of work.
- Failure to pay the remaining balance upon completion may result in legal action.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
Please refer to our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details on cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds.
7. Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring that the work area is accessible, clear, and in a condition suitable for the requested service at the time of the appointment. This includes but is not limited to:
- Accessible doors and walls for lock, camera, doorbell, and TV mount installations
- Clear access to basement areas for renovation work
- Disclosure of any known structural issues, hazards, or pre-existing damage
ToolTec is not liable for delays or additional costs resulting from inaccessible work areas or undisclosed pre-existing conditions.
8. Workmanship Guarantee
We guarantee our workmanship for 30 days from the date of service completion. If an issue arises directly from our installation or repair work within this period, we will return to resolve it at no charge. This guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, tampering, third-party modifications, or normal wear and tear.
9. Third-Party Products & Equipment
For services involving customer-supplied equipment (e.g., cameras, doorbells, TVs, or smart locks), ToolTec is not responsible for product defects, compatibility issues, or damage to the equipment during installation. We recommend using equipment from reputable manufacturers and can advise on compatible products upon request.
10. Limitation of Liability
ToolTec Home & Security is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question.
11. Privacy
We collect and use your personal information solely for the purpose of providing our services. We do not sell or share your information with third parties. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Booking Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our booking services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
